"By reclaiming waste and turning it into luxury and premium skincare products and developing further models such as bio-fuel and agricultural uses, the proceeds from the retail sales are then used ethically into regions in South East Asia where education is poorly distributed and difficult to service in traditional school models." @Dean Sprague, I'm interested to know, during the initial phase of building this enterprise, what were your challenges and how did you solve them?

@Dean This is such a great reply - I mean the entire post written by you here. Thank you very much. I'm curious to know what kind of expectations you had before you join SEIP Forum, and what would you eventually like to achieve, networking in this small but growing 'Social Entrepreneurs' community here.
Challenges plus!!
Challenges for me equals learning opportunities. We all respond in different ways to a challenge, there is no 'wrong' or 'right' answer. The 'choices' we're presented with are:
take the advice from others' who are are building or have built a sustainably resilient organisation I cannot understate how important mentors are.
keep on trying to 'figure it out' on your own, please allow a LOT more time and frustration here...the fact is no-one knows 'every' answer to the myriad of barriers and obstacles that will keep popping up...focus on developing your own skills and intuition,
Build a team. Be clear about what you're 'good at' and also what you're 'not good' at. Keep doing what you're good at, love doing and can't stop thinking about doing sometimes at 3am...(you get the point!) Not good at managing finance? Work with an accountant. Not good at marketing? Find someone who shares your values. Logistics not your strong point? Find someone who knows more about it than you. Every decision we make is valid. Adapt it to what you already know. Empower the team to work towards solutions collectively and share.
When challenges arise, don't be too hard on yourself. No one has the answer. We literally 'don't know' what the future will bring two minutes from now.
Our creative mind will start moving towards the impactful change you want to create and bring into the world, outer change comes from our focus and intent.
