I am a founder of BUTA Art & Sweets - a social business, reducing unemployment problem of local women with special needs through sales of handmade sweets and educational programs
Hi dear @Jodee ! Thanks for such a great question! Before pandemic we organized all educational programs offline. But during the crisis we decided to focus much more on emotional intelligence and development of soft & technical skills. It was a great time to update our knowledge and we invited professional coaches and trainers to train our women. The main challenge was persuading our women to change their habits, as they are 40-50 y.o. and they didn't adapt to work online. So we talked with them constantly in order to achieve results during pandemic and now they are also working with local mentors to develop their businesses online :)
Dear Sara, it sounds very good. I don't know for how long you have been running these trainings and support to adapt online work but I am very curious of your results.
@Zsolt Bugarszki thank you! sorry for delay in my reply. We have been running these trainings for 2 months. First weeks didn't bring any results, as we faced a lot of resilience. But later our women learned a lot about preparing new sweets, managing their emotions & customers behaviour. 15 out of 20 women with special needs in our team now can work online without any challenges and we are happy for that :)
Hi @Sara, I'm interested to learn on how and what do you extend for your educational programmes to local women with special needs, what are the challenges you faced?
Sara welcome! Congratulations on the award BUTA Arts & Sweets by your President!
I like this idea of the “master classes” as well.
1. What are some goals you have for your initiative this year?
Hi, dear Ashley! Thank you so much for nice words! This year we are aiming to conduct 50 online masterclasses for our women & parents of children with special needs , increase sales of our products up to 200%, transforming our menu into menu of vegan products :)
