Due to political instabilities, insecurity and natural disasters in
countries such as DRCongo, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, Ethiopia
and South Sudan, thousands of people are forced to leave their
home countries in search of peace and safety. Today, there are
65, 6 million forcibly displaced people around the world and
over 1.11millio refugees have settled in Uganda which is
expected to be increasing every day and at night.
And already existing 83% of youth unemployed make the
the situation nearly impossible for refugee youths to get job
opportunities in Uganda. The challenges most youths are facing
is due to lack of self-awareness including the language barrier and a
complete lack of sustainable opportunities.
YOUTH INNOVATION HU (YINNOH) transforms and empowers
refugees and local youth from the refugee host community
through self-innovative exploration and social entrepreneurship
in the Rwamwanja refugee camp.
YINNOH seeks to provide job opportunities to both the youth in
Rwamwanja refugee camp and locals through supporting them
in discovering their inner abilities, understanding and realizing their
potentials, finding their purposes, uncovering their talents and
develop their skills to transform their challenges into social opportunities
by creating social enterprises on their own.
